Overview

Enhance your small to medium business with fast and reliable virtual environments by integrating the QNAP QuCPE-7012 D2146NT-32G 2-Bay NVPE Enclosure into your network. Designed specifically to support multiple virtual machines, this Network Virtualization Premise Equipment (NVPE) enclosure includes a 2.3 GHz Intel Xeon D-2146NT eight-core processor with 32GB of 2666 MHz ECC DDR4 memory, which is enhanced with hardware acceleration technologies to run demanding applications. You can install up to two separately sold 2.5" SATA III drives into the internal bays, where identical discs will automatically be configured for RAID 1 and dedicated to be an Application Volume by default. At the same time, the QuCPE-7012's four 10G SFP+ fiber connectors alongside eight RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports provide high-bandwidth connections to users. QNAP's proprietary QNE Network operating system works with the AMIZ Cloud centralized management platform to help your business build, optimize, and manage its virtual network infrastructure.

 

Hardware Acceleration

Intel QAT, Smart NIC SR-IOV, and DPDK hardware acceleration technologies offer superior computing power for virtualization deployment and enhance SD-WAN and VPN transmission efficiency.

QNE Network Operating System

QNAP's proprietary QNE Network operating system supports the Network Service Composer and Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN), allowing for flexible network deployment and multisite network infrastructure expansion. By supporting Virtual Network Functions (VNF), Virtual Machines and Containers, QNE Network integrates network, computing and application services to realize network virtualization, application virtualization, and efficient management. Please note that features such as creating storage pools for file storage and Snapshots are not supported by QuCPE QNE Network Edition.

AMIZ Cloud

The AMIZ Cloud centralized management platform enables IT administrators at HQ to centrally monitor all edge devices, virtual machines, and containers. Supporting High Availability in a future update, troubleshooting, and remote management via the Account Center, the QuCPE-7012 helps enterprises achieve Zero Touch Provisioning.

Network Service Composer

With the visualized topology of the Network Service Composer, you can easily set up VNFs or VMs, create virtual switches, and allocate physical network resources for chained services by drag and drop. When settings change, you can directly add/remove individual VNFs using the service composer, greatly simplifying operational network combination.

Running VM/VNF Directly on QuCPE

QuCPE can simultaneously run multiple virtual machines, software containers, and even bespoke user-made virtual machines in Virtualization Station and Container Station, assisting businesses in improving deployment and management flexibility helping to streamline hardware costs.

Security

The QuCPE-7012 supports Active-Standby High Availability and QuFirewall to ensure continuous operation and services, and Zero Trust Cybersecurity protection.

Upgrade Ready

In addition to installing up to two 2.5" SATA drives into the available bays, you can enhance performance by using up to 128GB UDIMM or 256GB RDIMM modules in the eight memory slots. There is also a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot available for compatible expansion cards such as wireless network adapters. Additional 10GbE RJ45/SFP+ port may be installed by installing compatible devices into the network module slot.

Cooling

The QuCPE-7012 uses three fans to help maintain optimal temperatures and performance.

USB Ports

Connect and operate webcams and other peripherals through the USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. Please note that external storage devices are not supported.

LCD Monitor

The built-in LCD Monitor displays real-time IP and firmware information of the switch and QNE Network System to help you understand the network status. The control buttons allow you to directly configure and restart the system.

Intel QAT

Intel QuickAssist Technology offloads computationally intensive compression and improves IPSec cryptography VPN performance.

Smart NIC SR-IOV

By installing an SR-IOV (Single Root I/O Virtualization) compatible PCIe SmartNIC, you can allocate bandwidth resources from a physical network card directly to VMs. With traffic bypassing the Hypervisor vSwitch, it helps enhance I/O throughout and network efficiency, ensuring reliable VM applications and reduced CPU overheads.

Intel Hardware Acceleration

DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit)
Allows data to bypass the OS kernel and directly enter user space to offer a double packet transmission rate (Total T/R x L2) and improve overall virtualization application performance.
